Dentistry is one of the fastest growing branches of medicine. It includes the following areas: conservative dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, surgical dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics. Conservative dentistry studies restoration of the shape, color of the tooth, diagnosis and treatment of carious and non-carious lesions of the teeth, endodontic treatment of teeth, diseases of the oral mucosa and prevention. Prosthetic dentistry deals with the restoration of dental tissues, replacement of lost teeth, restoration of the structure and function of the masticatory system. Surgical and maxillofacial dentistry studies the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the oral cavity and maxillofacial region through surgery way. Pediatric dentistry studies dental diseases of children associated with age-related anatomical and physiological features of their development in different periods of life. Orthodontics — prevention and treatment of dentoalveolar anomalies. Currently, digital technologies are actively being introduced into dentistry and developing it, technological and clinical developments in this area are being improved. Educational Process

Classes are held on the territory of RUDN University and clinical bases. All classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with equipment that allows the use of simulation technologies, with standard sets of professional models and the results of laboratory and instrumental studies. This allows students to master the skills and abilities provided by their professional activities.
In the educational process, the student studies disciplines that are divided into several modules:
— the professional cycle includes special disciplines, as a result of the study of which, the student acquires professional manual skills (prevention, cariesology, endodontics, periodontics, prosthetics, oral surgery, orthodontics and many other disciplines).
— related general medical disciplines (general surgery, obstetrics, dermatovenerology, neurology, psychiatry, etc.).
— biomedical, natural science cycle (physics, mathematics, medical informatics, chemistry, biology, human anatomy, histology, physiology, immunology, etc.).
— humanitarian, social and economic cycle (philosophy, bioethics, history of medicine, jurisprudence, Latin, economics, etc.).

Practice

In practice, students acquire and consolidate basic manual skills. Practical classes are held in clinics and research centers. RUDN University students have the opportunity to undergo internships abroad. I have experience in conducting internships in Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Hungary. It should be noted that in the professional training of dentists, much attention is paid to the study of modern innovative technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the teeth and oral cavity.

Career

After graduating from the university with a degree in Dentistry 31.05.03, the student receives a specialist diploma — General practitioner dentist. For admission to the implementation of medical and preventive activities on the territory of the Russian Federation, a graduate must undergo primary accreditation of a specialist, which will make it possible to independently carry out medical activities. Graduates continue their studies in residency and postgraduate studies.
