Profession

The field of professional activity of graduates of the specialty program “Pharmacy” is the circulation of medicines.
Objects of professional activity include: medicines and technologies aimed for development, production, quality control, use of medicines and control in the field of the use of medicines in accordance with established requirements and standards in the field of healthcare.

Educational Process

As a result of this, students gain competencies. Professional training includes the study of disciplines such as pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, pharmacognosy, management and economics of pharmacy. Among them: pharmacoeconomics, good pharmaceutical practice, pharmaceutical terminology, instrumental methods of pharmaceutical analysis.
Students are taught humanitarian and natural sciences disciplines by professors and teachers of the university’s specialized faculties: physical and mathematical and natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, philological, economic, legal and agricultural technological institutes. The teaching staff for 90% consists of candidates and doctors of sciences. The teaching is conducted by well-known specialists in the pharmaceutical industry.

Practice

Practical program: 27 weeks of training for practitioners, including first aid, pharmaceutical propaedeutics, pharmacognosy, manufacturing practices in pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, management and economics of pharmacy. The practice are conducted at such bases as Russian Scientific Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Biomedical Technology Research Center of the Federal Biomedical Agency, Research Institute of Pharmacology, Russian Research Institute of Genetics, the Shemyakin and Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Institute of Virology named after D.I. Ivanovsky, Russian Center for Forensic Medical Examination, Pharmanalysis Control and Analytical Laboratory, pharmacy organizations in Moscow and Moscow region, pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises.

Career

Pharmaceutical specilists are highly demanded in the labor market, so the profession is one of the most prestigious and highly profitable. Most pharmaceutical companies say they are not enough specialists in this educational program.
A young specialist in the field of pharmacy, with knowledge of foreign languages, begins his professional path, is guaranteed not to be unemployed. He has opportunities for choosing both a professional specialization and a region.
Pharmacy organizations (pharmacies, drugstores), pharmacy warehouses, Russian and foreign pharmaceutical companies, drug quality control centers, research laboratories involved in drug development, government agencies.
