Great changes that take place in international relations entail a new vision of historical processes, new approaches. This directly affects the assessment of ongoing events, relationship between different countries, development of new approaches to solving interstate relations. The Department of Theory of International Relations trains specialists in international relations. Experts in this field are distinguished by erudition, extensive knowledge in history, theory of international relations and world politics, knowledge of foreign languages, communication skills, diplomacy.
Educational Process
During training students acquire advanced knowledge of general problems of modern global politics, international security, management of world processes, and skills in applied analytics of an international political profile taking into account the needs of both government bodies and representatives of the private economic sector engaged in international activities. The programme attaches particular attention to English, without which it is unthinkable today to study primary sources and integrate into world science .
Practice
Internships take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, Rosmolodezh, Roscosmos, Rosatom, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UN Information Centre, representative offices of the President of the Russian Federation, embassies and missions of the CIS and non-CIS countries in the Russian Federation, research centres, etc.
Career
Among the jobs in which graduates of the department are employed are: diplomat, international expert, analyst, international journalist, lawyer, economist, manager.
Graduates of the department work in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, embassies and consulates of Russia in the USA, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, China, Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Lebanon, Morocco and other countries, diplomatic institutions of a number of foreign states, international organizations, commercial organizations, as well as in research centres and higher educational institutions in Russia and abroad.
