Over two thousand years have passed since then: great empires were built and destroyed, ideologies followed by thousands and millions of people around the world were created and overthrown. However, the study of the principles of government and the basic laws of the exercise of power is still relevant for those who want to devote themselves to this oldest and most complex of arts.

Educational Process

The process of being trained in the art of political management within the framework of mastering the programme begins with the study of such important subjects for a professional political scientist and politician as History of Politics and Political Doctrines, World and Russian History, Basic Principles of Economics and Management, State of Ecology and Society, Principles of Legal System Operation. Then specialization begins: Principles of Political Consulting, PR and GR, Philosophy of Politics, Principles of Public Administration in Russia and the World, Techniques and Methods of Political Analysis and Forecasting, Legal Aspects of Political Activity, Political Journalism.

Practice

Business games in the format of the UN Model, Model of the European Parliament, Political Negotiations, Practice of Resolving Ethno-Political Conflicts, political debate club, participation in the research and practice-oriented Institute of Contemporary Politics at the Department of Political Analysis and Management — all this allows students to move from dry book-academic theory to practice and better understand the basic principles of the work of a political analyst, political consultant, political negotiator and mediator. Senior students are required to undergo internships in the state authorities of Moscow and the Moscow region, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moscow, apparatus of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Career

Receiving a political science education opens up wide career opportunities for RUDN University graduates in various areas of state activity. At present RUDN University graduates in Political Science are employees of the apparatus of higher authorities, professional political consultants and political technologists, employees of the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, highly qualified state managers and administrators.
