Profession

Today sociology is an actively developing discipline, whose mastering at a high level provides with the skills to analyze the widest range of social problems, which, in turn, makes graduates of the postgraduate programme in sociological sciences unique and sought-after experts in various fields of social life.
The structure of the postgraduate programme includes a compulsory (basic) and optional parts. This provides the possibility of implementing several profiles of postgraduate programmes with different training specializations within one field of study.
The educational programme in field of study 39.06.01 “Sociological Sciences” is aimed at:
- training highly qualified scientific and research and teaching staff, forming and developing their competencies in accordance with the professional standard;
- final original scientific research that contributes to creating, expanding and developing scientific knowledge.

Educational Process

The postgraduate programme consists of several blocks.
Block 1. Disciplines. includes the disciplines of the basic part of the programme and the disciplines related to its variable part.
Block 2. Internships. fully refers to the variable part of the programme.
Block 3. Research. fully refers to the variable part of the programme.
Block 4. State Final Certification. is fully related to the basic part of the programme and results in conferring a degree of Researcher. Lecturer-Researcher.

Practice

The variable part of the programme includes various types of internships to obtain professional skills and experience in professional activities (including mandatory teaching internship). The internship can be completed in the structural divisions of an organization. For people with disabilities, the choice of internships sites takes into account the state of health and accessibility requirements.

Career

Graduates of the postgraduate programme in Sociological Sciences in specialty 22.00.01 “Theory, Methodology and History of Sociology” have ample opportunities for professional self-fulfilment and career growth:
— research activities in theory, methodology and history of sociology, social structure, social institutions and processes, economic sociology and demography, sociology of management, sociology of culture, spiritual life, political sociology;
— applied research activities in commercial and non-commercial entities of various directions, including marketing and public opinion research;
— production and applied activities, including the assessment of the effectiveness and consequences of social and economic policy, social expertise; and
