The areas of professional activity of the bachelor in the areas of the enlarged group "Mathematics and Mechanics" are scientific research, information and communication technologies in the areas of design, creation and testing of software, support and administration of information and communication systems and databases, management of information resources in the telecommunications network Internet. Mathematicians are engaged in the compilation of a mathematical description of the problem, determine the possibility and methods of solving this problem in the most rational way. Educational Process

Students in this enlarged area of training receive fundamental knowledge in mathematics, computer science and special disciplines, learn how to use information technologies in financial, insurance, investment business, conduct mathematical modeling of processes and evidence-based computational experiments, navigate modern computer mathematics algorithms.
For the first two years, students acquire basic mathematical knowledge in the following disciplines: "Mathematical Analysis", "Linear Algebra and Geometry", "Differential Equations", "Discrete Mathematics and Mathematical Logic", "Complex Analysis", "Functional Analysis", a mandatory part of the educational The plan is to study the humanities, such as "History", "Philosophy", "Fundamentals of Rhetoric and Communication", "Jurisprudence", as well as "Life Safety", "Applied Physical Education".
After two years of study, students choose the graduating basic educational unit (Mathematical Institute named after Academician S.M. Nikolsky or the Department of Applied Informatics and Probability Theory), as well as one of the areas of study: "Mathematics" or "Applied Mathematics and Informatics".
Specialization and individual learning trajectory is determined through the choice of elective disciplines: "Functional-differential equations" or "Machine learning in telecommunications", "Controlled systems with aftereffect" or "Models of multiservice networks with priorities", "Optimization methods" or "Analysis of time series and Panel Data, Operations Research and Game Theory or Econometrics, Machine Learning and Financial Mathematics, or Fundamentals of Financial Mathematics and Optimal Portfolio Theory.
The training ends with the passing of the state exam and the defense of the final qualifying work.


Practice

The research work and practice provided for by the curriculum in scientific laboratories and scientific centers of the Mathematical Institute contribute to the formation and consolidation of professional competencies, includes the mandatory participation of students in scientific work, the implementation and defense of interdisciplinary term papers on the subject of basic disciplines of the professional cycle, as well as the participation of students in scientific work through the scientific student society.
