Graduates’ main field of activity is IT-sphere: companies and company divisions which develop software systems, implement and maintain information and communication technologies in various subject areas. Students are capable of doing a wide range of professional tasks acting as system administrators, computer network maintenance specialists, systems analysts, computer engineers, programmers, software testers, etc. Experienced specialists with managerial skills can grow up to be project managers.
Educational Process
The course provides acquisition of knowledge in the key branches of applied informatics by studying the following subjects: “Architecture and Evaluation Methods of Next-generation Communication Networks”, “Theoretical basis and standards of distributed object-oriented technologies”, “Object databases”, “Mathematical basis of information security”, “Algorithmic basis of multimedia technologies”, “Object-oriented CASE-technologies”, “Parallel and distributed programming”, “Design of interactive systems”, “Intellectual dynamic systems”, “Modern concepts of informational communication management”, “Formal languages of models of processes of information communication companies' workflows”, “Mathematical models and research methods in mathematical theory of teletraffic”.
The obligatory part of the course includes research work under the direction of leading specialists in development of mathematical, algorithmic and management solutions in the areas of communication and development of intellectual systems. Students are invited to participate in scientific events: seminars, conferences, youth schools, lectures.
All research work and educational activities are held in multimedia classrooms, scientific laboratories and centers of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Telecommunication. Classes are held in computer clasrooms equipped with modern facilities and software required for computing experiments.
Practice
The course includes envisages research work and undergraduate internship based on the Scientific Centers of Institute of Applied Mathematics and telecommunication, and specialized enterprises.
