The professional activity of a political scientist in the direction of “Political institutions, processes, technologies” includes
preparation of information and information-analytical materials, organization of preparation, adoption, execution and examination of managerial decisions in the field of politics, political consulting, political and managerial activities, interaction with public authorities, management, non-governmental and international organizations, teaching political science disciplines in educational institutions of higher and additional education, research and scientific — pedagogical activity in the field of political sciences.
A professional political scientist must have
systematized ideas, knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of expert-consulting, analytical, managerial activities.

Educational Process

The development of the educational program is the study of such disciplines as “Foreign language”, “History and philosophy of science”, “Political institutions, processes, technologies”, “Pedagogy of higher education”, “Methodology of scientific research”.
Postgraduate students acquire a modern level of knowledge on problematic and topical issues of the power process and political institutions, mechanisms and technologies of digital politics, political behavior and participation, ethno-political processes, political identity, the regional dimension of politics, political forecasting, political planning, political risks, which is determined by the specifics of training specialists of the relevant scientific profile
The program is implemented with the aim of acquiring knowledge and mastering the modern methodology of applied political analysis and its research tools
As part of the educational process, an individual trajectory of a graduate student as a specialist in the topic of dissertation research chosen by him is developed.
The educational process includes research activities, within the framework of which it is mandatory for postgraduate students to test the results of research in reports and speeches at All-Russian and International scientific and practical conferences organized by RUDN University and other leading Russian and foreign universities and associations of political sciences, as well as in scientific articles published in publications recommended by RUDN University.
The sites of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Moscow City Duma, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, and various political and public organizations provide significant support for the conduct of research work by postgraduate students.
The implementation of the program by a highly qualified teaching staff makes it possible to prepare graduate students for the successful defense of a dissertation, as well as as specialists in the relevant scientific direction, meeting the dynamically changing requirements for the academic career of a scientist and conditions in the modern labor market.

Practice

Pedagogical practice from the 1st to 3rd years of postgraduate studies is one of the mandatory main components of the curriculum.
The practice is aimed at acquiring the skills of teaching and educational work in higher education.
Pedagogical practice is carried out on the basis of the Department of Public Policy and History of State and Law of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia under the guidance of a teacher of the department.
In accordance with an individual plan, a graduate student, as a future teacher-researcher, gets acquainted with modern methods and technologies of teaching at the level of an academic discipline, collects and prepares scientific and analytical materials on the topics of the discipline, draws up a plan and fills the content of seminars with their subsequent conduct.
When assigning an academic discipline to a graduate student, partial or complete correspondence of its topics to his dissertation research is taken into account.

The acquired knowledge, skills and abilities during the development of the program allow for an academic career as a scientist, career growth in federal and regional legislative, executive authorities, advertising and public relations services, in political, public, international organizations, institutions of higher education of the Russian Federation and foreign countries.
