Profession
Obstetrics is one of the first kinds of medical care that arose as a result of the development of our species. The birth of a person is a complex process and by no means safe, for a woman as well as for a child, therefore she always requires assistance.
Nowadays, obstetrics is a field of medicine, which studies the process of pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the health of the fetus and mother. Ob/gyn specialists are involved in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various pathologies related to pregnancy and fetal development, as well as termination of pregnancy.
On the other hand, gynaecology studies the female reproductive system and the diseases to which it is exposed.
Environment, the use of contraceptives, abortion and stress — all this affects women's health, increases the risk of gynecological diseases and infertility.
Educational Process
From the first days of training, the resident is actively involved into the life of the department, learns to interact with both staff and patients, correctly fill out medical charts; practicing theoretical skills on simulators, gradually begins to use the acquired knowledge in practice under the strict guidance of experienced doctors. As the ultimate goal of his training, the resident seeks the opportunity to work independently in his specialty.
Practice

Mastering the working skills in an obstetric and gynecological clinic, working on diagnostic equipment, learning various kinds of functional diagnostics, techniques of small obstetric and gynecological operations, operative delivery, as well as basic operations in gynaecology.
Career
Obstetrics and gynecology is a promising area for professional development. Despite all the modern methods of diagnosis and treatment, the need for good staff (which, like in the good old days, solve everything) remains. A specialist diploma makes it possible to work at a private practice, opens up wide horizons for career growth from a common doctor to a chief of medicine or head of the Ministry of Health. It is important to remember that only specialists who love their work and are ready to constantly develop new skills are truly without limits.
