A geneticist is a scientist who studies the mechanisms of heredity and variability at all levels of development of living organisms. The achievements of genetics play an important role in biology, medicine, agriculture, microbiology and biotechnology. The objects of professional activity of graduates who have mastered the postgraduate program are cultivated plants (species, varieties and hybrids, genetic collections of plants), plant clones, individual cells, viruses, bacteria, fungi, DNA molecules, proteins, enzymes, biologically active substances, drugs and biological agents, technological lines for production of drugs, food and fodder, etc.
Educational Process
The program includes the following specialized courses: “Research Methodology and Experiment Design”, “Plant Genetics”, “Plant Breeding and Biotechnology”, “Molecular and Biochemical Markers”, “Genetic Foundations of Plant Immunity”.
