Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology

Department of Artificial Intelligence

The department trains professionals in data analytics, machine learning and deep learning.

The department implements 2 educational programs:

Bachelor's degree: “Artificial Intelligence: Design and Training of Intelligent Systems”
Master's degree: “Data Management and Artificial Intelligence”

Educational programs are developed and implemented jointly with the key partners of the faculty: Sber and Alfa-Bank.

On completion of the training at the department, specialists will be able to work in the positions of Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, DevOps Engineer, MLOps Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst.

Artificial Intelligence Lab

In the laboratory, the students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence perform the most relevant and advanced scientific research and practical work under the supervision of experienced developers. It is a place for combining the theoretical and practical parts of training.

Students work with real cases that come to the laboratory from partner customers.

Artificial Intelligence Lab - working on a supercomputer

The faculty has opened an Artificial Intelligence Lab, with the main tasks of conducting research and creating products in the field of artificial intelligence according to the requirements of internal and external customers. To work with data, large computing power - a supercomputer - is required. Students participating in projects get access to the supercomputer to process large data sets.

The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence trains specialists in the field of data analysis, machine learning and deep learning of a new level. Graduates of the faculty will be able to successfully realize themselves both in work at the state corporations and within private business as well as to solve practical tasks on development, creation, and improvement of artificial intelligence technologies.

The faculty is equipped with modern technical equipment. An artificial intelligence laboratory has been opened, providing students and teachers with an opportunity to realize the most ambitious projects under the mentorship of leading developers in the field of artificial intelligence. Students have access to the RUDN supercomputer.

The educational programs of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence are implemented jointly with partner companies - Sber and Alfa-Bank - IT giants recognized not only in Russia. The training is aimed at developing specific practical skills in the field of artificial intelligence required to work for the largest companies in the industry.

Most students can get a job offer even before completing their bachelor's program and have the opportunity to continue their master's studies at the employer's expense.
