About the Institute

The Institute carries out research work in which students are involved along with the academic staff. The main research topics are the most important aspects of customs regulation, e.g., customs and tariff regulation, improving the efficiency of customs authorities, forecasting technologies in customs, risk management system, etc. Teachers and students publish research papers on current issues of customs development, integration relations within the EAEU, economic security, etc.

The Institute implements the educational programme which develops knowledge and skills in protecting intellectual property rights, accounting for confiscated goods, monitoring customs value and determining the country of origin of goods. In addition, future customs officers and foreign economic activity specialists study currency markets, international trade and customs management, and acquire competencies in forecasting and analytical activities.
