The Digital Pre-University Faculty organises summer schools “Dive into Russian in Moscow” for foreign citizens

The Digital Pre-University Faculty's summer school programmes “Dive into Russian in Moscow” will help participants to immerse themselves in the language environment through a combination of intensive study and a very interesting cultural and educational programme. Russian language lessons with leading RUDN teachers, excursions, walks around the capital, sport activities, interesting events and master-classes are just a small part of what awaits the participants of the school this summer.  The students will be able to get acquainted with Russia, Russian culture and national traditions, which will definitely make their time in Moscow exciting, colourful and memorable!

The programme offers full accompaniment for participants who have never studied Russian, in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Farsi.

Event periods

• 1 July to 28 July 2024;
• 15 July to 11 August 2024;
• 1 August to 28 August 2024.

Purpose of the event

The Summer School programme has educational, enlightenment and adaptation goals, including acquaintance with the Russian language, socio-cultural specifics of Russia, its cultural values, historical and cultural heritage.

Skills that participants can acquire

Participants will be able to develop and improve their language, speech and communicative skills in Russian language to the extent of A1, A2 levels (depending on the chosen programme), necessary for successful communication in the language environment using a certain set of language tools.

Module I. Introductory phonetic course:

• Welcome to Russia!
• Let's get acquainted.

Module II. A1 level:

• This is me and my family.
• Let's go shopping.
• Going to the post office for packages.
• My hobbies.
• My typical day, plans and goals.

Dive into Russian in Moscow: advanced level

Module I. Level A2:

• Let's get acquainted (case system of the Russian language).
• Where I live, what I dream of (prepositional case: meaning and functions).
• You've done your job - walk free! (types of verb: CB and NCV).
• You can't catch a fish out of the pond without work (accusative case: meaning and functions).
• If you go quietly, you will go farther (verbs of motion).
• Everything has its time (dative case: meaning and functions).
• Where will we go in the summer? (verbs of motion with prefixes: NSV, SV).
• What is written with a pen cannot be chopped down with an axe (Instrumental Case: meaning and functions; Genitive Case: meaning and functions)
