The purpose of the event: The scientific seminar is dedicated to improving the quality of teaching foreign languages and cultures in accordance with the new challenges posed to humanitarian education; expanding active contacts with scientists and teachers of foreign languages from leading universities, raising the status of foreign languages, developing the academic reputation of the RUDN University and the incoming mobility of leading scientists in the RUDN University.

A. A. Yurasov will present his approach to the formulation of the problem of free will, taking into account the historical and philosophical context of the relevant discussions. The speaker suggests considering two possible formulations of this problem: the broader one is "Does free will exist, and what is the area of its implementation?" and the more precise one — "What is the area of implementation of free will?". Is the concept of free will compatible with the modern sci-ence — this shall be the topic for discussion.

The present-day market of empirical sociology is growing very fast. There is no other social and humanitarian science which enjoys such a grand-scale and diversified sphere of application.

The concept of neo-Kantianism is associated with the names of representatives of the Marburg and Baden schools. In what sense can the idea of phenomenology be seen as a continuation of the Kantian tradition of the critique of reason?
