Among the participants of the XX Workshop are L.Ogorodova, deputy minister of education and science, A.Sobolev, director of Department of state policy in higher education of the RF Ministry of education and science, universities’ authorities, Russian and foreign experts and representatives of business and health care.
RUDN Rector V.Filippov will open the plenary session, where his team will present RUDN best practices. Strategic sessions dedicated to revolutionary biomedical technologies and a round table on the introduction of Bologna process in Russian higher education will follow. The first day will also feature a traditional session on scientometrics and 5-100 Project PR workshop, where international academic recognition of Russian universities will be on the agenda.
The second day of the conference features a plenary session of top experts of Times Higher Education rankings (THE) who will give a master class on the global tendencies in higher education and changes in ranking methodology. The latest marketing strategy mechanisms and tools will also be presented. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), another leading ranking agency takes part in the conference, the experts talking about QS subject ratings, non-commercial publications in world mass media, methods of on-line promotion of universities and improving image of a research university.
The workshop will be broadcast live in Study in Russia group VKontakte. Specialists for work with international students from 10 universities of 5-100 Project will answer questions of Russian-speaking entrants from ex-USSR countries on admission rules and terms of study in Russian HEIs.
Another interesting event at the workshop will be the so-called Science Slam, where students and young researchers of 5-100 universities will have 10 minutes each to briefly tell about the essence of their research, while an audiometer will measure the volume of applause thus choosing the winner to get boxing gloves as a prize.
On the agenda of parallel sessions are university research reputation, internationalization experience, student research groups, experience of foreign agencies in academic mobility, determining world level of Russian journals and international students recruiting.
Participants of the conference will discuss creation and development of English-language environment, HR issues, university environment study and research results promotion.
Since 2013, regular workshops of 5-100 Project attended by 400-900 people, have proved to be a convenient site for interaction on the issues of enhancing university competitiveness, studying best practices and getting to know the leading research centers.
In 2023, the Public Council of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science conducted an independent assessment of the quality of conditions for educational activities. More than 300 universities and branches provided information on the quality of education.
