24 students from Jordan confirm knowledge of Russian

Vadim Zajchikov, director of Russian Cultural Centre in Jordan, handed to 24 students the first completion certificates of the "Russian as a foreign language" course (36 hours) in National Orthodox School (Ashrafieh district, Amman).

On 28 November, Vadim Zajchikov, director of Russian Cultural Centre in Jordan, handed to 24 students the first completion certificates of the "Russian as a foreign language" course (36 hours) in National Orthodox School (Ashrafieh district, Amman).

Before the official ceremony there was a festive concert prepared by the students of Lina Kandakzhi and Svetlana Shejpak, professors at RUDN University. The students talked about themselves and their families, recited poems and sang in Russian.

During the event Meisun Akrush, director of the school, thanked the teachers from RUDN for their job. Bashar Khaled Akhmad Al-Budur, a student, took up her speech and expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their advertence, big hearts and patience and thanked the director for the support.

The guys learnt Russian hard twice a week for 1,5 hours a lesson. They began with learning letters, sounds and spelling. Then they started to ask questions on Russian grammar and Russia, watched with great pleasure various videos on Moscow, Moscow underground, Saint Petersburg and Russian winter.

It was a pain for them to spell the letter "ы". Not everyone could seize the difference between the words "стул" ("stul", chair) and "стол" ("stol", table). Soft and hard signs almost drove them crazy, the students just cried out: "What are they for?!" However, despite all the difficulties the students are ready to continue learning Russian and give serious thought to study at RUDN University.
