RUDN University Enters Top 10 in 2026 National Ranking of Universities

The ranking evaluates Russian universities across six key areas: Education, Research, Social Environment, Cooperation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Brand. In 2026, the methodology was expanded to assess universities’ strategic development programs, their contribution to regional economies, and the practical value of their industry partnerships for students.

Our results

RUDN earned 660 points overall, joining the country’s top-performing universities alongside Moscow State University (MSU), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), and Higher School of Economics (HSE).

The university’s outstanding positions in the category rankings highlight its key strengths. The second place in the country in the area of “Cooperation” (924 points) highlights the effectiveness of cooperation between RUDN University and academic organizations, high-tech business and government authorities. This provides students with high-quality internships and employment and directly contributes to the achievement of technological sovereignty of the country.

The university’s high reputation was confirmed by the 6th place in the “Brand” category (492 points). This indicates trust that RUDN University gained among employers, academic community, and applicants worldwide.

The university also continues to demonstrate consistently strong performance in education and research. This year, RUDN ranked 12th in “Education” with 913 points and 15th in “Research” with 377 points. The university also placed 16th in the “Social Environment” category with 715 points, reflecting the comfortable conditions it provides for studying, working, and the comprehensive development of students and academic staff.

RUDN’s inclusion in the Top 10 of the National Ranking of Universities is the natural result of its consistent efforts to strengthen international cooperation, improve the quality of education, and develop its research schools.

More rankings

The QS World University Rankings were also published recently. According to the latest edition, RUDN once again ranked among the top three Russian universities, taking third place.

In the global ranking, RUDN moved up to 359th place, improving its position by eight places compared to last year. The ranking includes 1,504 universities from 106 countries, with 33 Russian higher education institutions represented.

This achievement recognizes the quality of the university’s education, research, and international cooperation, as well as the tremendous daily efforts of RUDN’s faculty members, researchers, staff, and students.
