Globally thinking employers turn to graduates of Russian universities

In October RUDN hosted an international conference “HEI and employers: effective cooperation for attracting, training and employing international students” and “BRICS: Cooperation for development. Network universities and international labor market” as well as a round table with representatives of associations of foreign graduates.
Representatives of academic community from 44 HEIs in 17 Russian cities and towns, 28 foreign universities (including BRICS, EU, SCO and EAEC countries) spent three days discussing challenging issues of training highly effective staff in Russian HEIs and strengthening cooperation between Russian universities and foreign employers.
All the parties unanimously agreed that it is important to continue the dialogue between universities and enterprises. There are examples of fruitful cooperation. One of them is “Rostekh” corporation interested in training staff for its enterprises in Russia and rep offices in 51 countries, especially IT specialists. The same approach is practiced in “Rosatom” implementing more than 350 educational programs in power engineering. In 2016, students from 37 countries came to Russian HEIs to study and further work in their native countries- partners of “Rosatom” (to compare, in 2015 there were 27 countries and 15 in 2014). V.Karezin, Director for Rosatom educational programs said that he saw big potential in cooperation with foreign students associations.
O.Syomina, Deputy managing director of “Domodedovo Training” spoke about the long-term staff program and training students with their further employment.
RUDN University has good traditions of cooperating with Alumni associations. RUDN Alumni association unites more than 90,000 graduates working in over 170 countries of the world.
L.Efremova, RUDN Vice-Rector for academic mobility, said that “employing RUDN students is a key long-term goal”.
The event was held in the frame of “5-100” project.
In 2023, the Public Council of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science conducted an independent assessment of the quality of conditions for educational activities. More than 300 universities and branches provided information on the quality of education.
Tamara Ghazaryan is known to many at RUDN University. She “races,” as she herself says, around the university, participates in a dozen student events and can get to almost every location herself. Only a few locations need the help of her friends or team. But it was not always so.
