In her welcoming speech A.Dolzhikova, Vice-Rector for continuing education said that “migration issues are among the most discussed today”. RUDN as a multiethnic university is realizing a number of projects with colleagues from France and Germany in the field of sociocultural adaptation. RUDN is one of the leading elaborator of the examination in Russian, Russian history and basic legislation for migrants coming to Russia.
A.Ivanov, expert of the Institute of linguo-civilizational and migration processes, noted that migration adaptation issue needs involvement of NGOs. Russia has huge migration potential and is constantly improving its migration legislation and procedures.
A.Dolzhikova told about RUDN experience – in 2015, the university held a seminar for Migration Service experts on the psychology of communication with migrants.
European experts shared their experience in dealing with migration challenges, how they strengthen security and introduce new techniques to regulate relations between migrants and local population and decrease tension. They also stressed the controversy of the problem- one the one hand the ageing Europe needs new people to cope with the demographic crisis, on the other hand the tolerant Europe risks losing tolerance.
The challenges were discussed at three conference sections – “Theory and practice of financial-economic regulation of migration processes”, “Socio-cultural adaptation and integration of migrants and their children in a different ethnic environment” and “Legal regulation of migration processes in Russia and abroad”.
