January 24, a scientific seminar “The reflection of the linguistic worldview in the lexical system of French Canadians and English Canadians” of Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Olga Ustinova was conducted. The present thesis deals with the contrastive study of the lexical systems of French and English in Canada. In this thesis special attention is paid to the thematic systematization of vocabulary by the lexico-semantic fields, to the analysis of the intra- and extra-linguistic factors affecting the functioning of French and English in Canada as well as to the revelation of the significant cultural vocabulary in the semiotics of literary text.
