BECOME THE CHAMPION OF RUDN University! On 3rd November on the Internet starts the next Peoples’ Friendship Russian language Open Cup. The co-chairmen of the Cup's organisation Comittee are Professor Aleksandr Kovalenko, Dean of the Faculty of Philology of RUDN University, Professor Vladimir Denisenko, the Head of department, and Ivan Klimenko, the general director of the Cup. The head of the department Victor Shaklein is the president of the jury. Queen Elizabeth's favourite table game is the English Scrabble. Writer and film director Jean-Philippe Toussaint, winner of the prestigious Medici prize, put at the first place of his titles and ranks that of World Champion in the French Scrabble. He's turned out to be the best international student at the First Peoples’ Friendship Russian language Open Cup. Before entering RUDN University he knew only two Russian words: “Sputnik” and “Gagarin”! The Peoples’ Friendship Cup's motto is: Russian is friends' language! In November, the Moscow tournament for choosing RUDN University's Russian language champion will take place. The game is played on one board. There are no limits to the participants' number. The actual presence of the proposed words can be verified on the online resource National Russian Language Corpus – http://www.ruscorpora.ru –, where you can find a collection of more than 300 million words, each of which is illustrated by quotations from Russian and international classic literature. The winners of the Cup will be rewarded with personal Russian diplomas and prizes. The tournament's organisators invite everyone who cares about our “great and powerful” language to support its development by participating in the Cup. After Moscow tournament tournaments in Minsk, Doneck, Erevan will be held...
