On 21 June, 2012, acting Vice-Rector for International Activities N.V. Syulkova had a meeting with a delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Issues on training of specialists for Vietnam at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia were discussed during the meeting. N.V. Syulkova noticed that 109 students from Vietnam currently study at the University. Beginning from 1994 year 130 specialists were trained for the country. The Vietnamese party expressed the interest in increasing the number of students sent to study at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia on Bachelor, Master and PhD levels in the near future.

RUDN rose to the 26th position in the UI GreenMetric 2022 ranking and confirmed the status of the “greenest” university in Russia. The ranking includes 1,050 world universities, of which 52 are Russian.
