March 18, 2016, the International Council reviewed RUDN competitiveness increase program road map. In his speech V.M.Filippov noted that currently the strategic task of the university is its intensive development as a research university. The main speaker was A.A.Atabekova, deputy head of the RUDN 5-100 Program Directorate.
The university road map is oriented at integration in global research nets, creation of research results commercialization tools, developing ties with foreign employers and international accreditation of educational programs considering unique multiprofile and interdisciplinary character of the university. Cardinal change of the educational paradigm – From Teaching to Learning, is planned through the implementation of modern educational and info-communicational technologies. In the international activity the university can considerably increase recognition of RUDN University brand using its broad international links including links with alumni and the unique multicultural environment of its campus with students of more than 400 nationalities.
One of the members of the delegation was F.Vidal, President of the University of Nice Sophie Antipolis.
The subject rating “Three missions of the University” — 2022 was issued. It shows the best universities in 29 separate fields. RUDN University, like MSU, is represented in 18 ratings.
December 28, RUDN University Rector Oleg Yastrebov and QS World Merit Head of Partnerships Zoya Zaitseva signed an agreement on large-scale cooperation in achieving 17 sustainable development goals identified by the UN.
In a year, RUDN University rose from 43 to 31 place in the international QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe & Central Asia 2022. Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia showed the best results in international scientific relations, academic reputation and employer reputation categories.
