April 16, national theoretical and practical conference “Russian journalism: new vectors of development” was held at the department of theory and history of journalism of the Philological faculty. Professor Kirabaev N.S., DSc, Vice-rector for scientific work, delivered an opening speech. Professor Vartanova E.L., DSc, head of the department of theory and economy of media, the Dean of MSU Journalistic faculty presented the first report “National features of Russian mediabusiness”. Journalist Kucher S.A., member of Council for Civil Society and Human Rights and of the Federal Civil committee of the political party “Civil Platform”, political observer, continued the conference. As a result of the conference collected scientific articles were published.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia has become the best among Russian universities in the international ARWU (Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects) ranking in Agriculture. RUDN University entered this ranking for the first time and immediately found itself among 201-300 best. The university also shot up 100 positions in Mathematics.
