Spiritual and Moral Culture in Higher School

January 29, Section "Spiritual and Moral Culture in Higher School" worked at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, within the XXII International Christmas educational readings, direction "Saint Sergius Monastery and Tradition of Spiritual Education in Russian Orthodox Church". The section was organized by Educational committee of Russian Orthodox Church and by Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). Heads of section: • Archbishop of Vereya Evgeny, Chairman of Educational Committee of Russian Orthodox Church; • Vladimir Filippov, RUDN University Rector, academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, chairman of the State commission for academic degrees and titles of the Russian Federation. The idea of the section was to find ways and forms of interaction between institutes of secular and spiritual education of the higher school in a historical context, taking into account latest reforms in the educational system. The participants discussed some problems of the world outlook paradigm of education in higher school, the continuity of spiritual and moral education in general and higher education and education reforms of higher school: the results of spiritual and moral creation of the direction of an education reform at higher school. Also the comprehensive target program "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Younger Generation of Russia" was presented. Representatives of clergy, heads and teachers of spiritual and secular establishments of higher education from different regions of Russia took part in the work of the section.
