In December, the gala concert of the 12th international festival “Wreath of folk traditions” took place in RUDN. The traditions of different continents were united by this event. This year the theme “Calendar of folk holidays” is dedicated to reconstruction of the elements of the peoples of the world’s original holidays.
The programme of the gala concert: Bengali New Year; Armenian holiday "Blessing of grapes"; Peruvian festival of the sun "Inti Raymi"; Slavic holiday "Gromnica";Kalmyk New Year "Zul"; African "Turnip Festival", national "Day of lovers" in Kazakhstan; Serbian holiday "Glory"; "the Cultural day of all the peoples of Vietnam"; "Feast of flowers" in Dagestan; the celebration of a child’s birth in the middle East and in the countries of the Arab world etc.
The scientific-practical conference was held before the concert. The participants of the festival, representatives of different peoples of the world presented the results of the research of traditions and rituals. The concert became their bright representation.
Some more information about the theme of the festival-2016: Holidays are the most important part of culture of all the peoples of world. The most significant of them are very ancient and they are rooted to our ancestors. In ancient times holidays were connected with different spheres of activity and they determined whole cycles in the life of a family, clan and nation.
About the project: the cultural-educational project “International festival “Wreath of folk traditions” was created in RUDN in 2005. The author is Olga Vedeneeva, a graduate of the Department "Theory and history of culture". The project is focused on systematic work with historical memory, reconstruction, research and study codes and symbols enclosed in the fundamental layers of historical memory: ritual folk culture, folk traditions and cultural heritage. This project offers a special strategy for dealing with historical memory and within a particular nation, and as a point of interaction between peoples.
In 2023, the Public Council of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science conducted an independent assessment of the quality of conditions for educational activities. More than 300 universities and branches provided information on the quality of education.
Tamara Ghazaryan is known to many at RUDN University. She “races,” as she herself says, around the university, participates in a dozen student events and can get to almost every location herself. Only a few locations need the help of her friends or team. But it was not always so.
