Winners of the University Student Olympiad on Russian as a foreign language

We congratulate the winners of the University students Olympiad on Russian as a foreign language! RUDN University foreign students participated in the Olympiad. The Olympiad had two rounds. The first round was held by the Chair of Russian of the main RUDN University faculties. The participants wrote the composition on the topic “Russia by names and dates”. The second round was held by the chair of Russian and its teaching methods of the PHUR philology department on April 19-20. Those two people from each faculty who won in the first round ( 12 people in total – 5 students from humanitarian department and 7 students from scientific department) entered the second round of Olympiad. According to the results of the second round tasks including the presentation project on the general topic of the Olympiad ( presentation-monologue on the topic and participation in the discussion); by voting the jury chose the winner in every department. The prepared presentations gave rise to a lively discussion among the participants. The jury President ass.prof. E.N.Baryshnikova underlined the high level of students’ training and their interest in learning Russian, thanked teachers of the chair represented by team leaders for professional work. Besides diplomas, merit certificates and trophies, the winners of the Olympiad were invited on the excursion to Ethnoworld folk settlement (in the framework of PHUR philological faculty cooperation with Ethnoworld) that took place on April, 20-21( students left for Ethnoworld in the evening of the second day of the Olympiad and came back to PHUR next day). The winners from the humanitarian department are: 1st place and diploma – Purevgeorge Nominbileg (philological faculty, 3rd year, major “Journalism”, Mongolia) 2nd place and diploma – Baes Carmen (faculty of humanitarian and social sciences, 3rd year, major “History”, The Republic of Dominicana) 3rd place and diplomas are awarded to two participants: Nkurunziza Parfais (Law faculty, 3rd year, “Jurisprudence”, Burundi) Abrahimi Torkaman Ali (philological faculty, 4th year, “Philology”, Iran) Jung Ji Yoon ( faculty of Law, 1st year of master’s degree program, speciality “International law”, South Korea) was awarded with diploma “For love to Russian culture”. The winners from scientific department are: 1st place and diploma – Mota Arthur (faculty of medicine, 5th year, “General medicine”, Brazil) 2nd place and diplomas are awarded to two participants: Llaka Ernest ( faculty of medicine, 2nd year, “Dentistry”, Albania) Miteo Ivan (faculty of science, 3rd year, “Chemistry”, The Democratic Republic of Congo) 3rd place and diplomas are awarded to two participants: Kambalame Finipholu (faculty of science, 3rd year, “Radio Physics”, Mozambique) Kezimana Parfais (faculty of agriculture 3rd year, “Agronomics”, Burundi) Shakea Sukrit (faculty of engineering, 3rd year, “Economics of production management”, Nepal) was awarded with diploma “For love to Russian”. Cobenia Sevalios Juan (faculty of engineering, 3rd year, “Economics of production management”, Ecuador) was awarded with diploma “For knowing history of Russia”. The University students Olympiad on Russian as a foreign language boosted tolerance development, establishment of contacts between foreign students studying in different departments, proliferation of up-to-date information about History of Russia, its culture and achievements, promotion of its positive image outside its territory.
