Online-school for prospective master`s students «Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future»
The School united those who were interested in a successful business and scientific career in the field of pedagogy, psychology, theoretical and applied linguistics, translation and translation studies, methods of teaching foreign languages and cultures, foreign regional studies, the theory of intercultural communication, public relations, advertising and management.
The main sections of the School for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future” were:
• “Psychological and pedagogical foundations of organizational and managerial
activities. "
• “Theory of communication and international public relations (PR)”.
• “Theory of communication and simultaneous translation”.
• “Foreign Regional Studies. European Region”.
The School for prospective master students bruoght together students from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Cyprus, Spain, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Guinea Bissau, and the DPRK.
Participants met with the faculty of the departments of social pedagogy and theory and practice of foreign languages. They listen to lectures by teachers, psychologists, and teachers of foreign languages who own innovative teaching methods and information and communication technologies, and experience in introducing inclusive education.
On April 21st, 2020, the grand opening of the school for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future”, as well as the presentation of IFL master programs, took place.
The welcoming speech of the President of the British Academy of Education, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor Sergey Kotov-Darty, was read by the Doctor of Psychology, professor of the IFL Department of Social Pedagogy Lyudmila Karavanova.
Lyudmila Karavanova, being an academician of the British Academy of Education, as well as the head of the IFL Department of Psychological and Pedagogical Education, in turn, greeted the students of the school and made a presentation “Psychological and pedagogical education: from bachelor to master”.
Ekaterina Drozdova, an Executive secretary of the Admission Committee of the RUDN University IFL, head of the full-time and part-time department, senior lecturer in the fields of “Linguistics”, “Foreign regional studies”, “Psychological and pedagogical education” made a presentation on the IFL master programs and told about the rules for admission to magistracy.
The lecture on new pedagogical technologies in the digital age was delivered by academician of the IHEAS, head of the IFL Postgraduate Studies Department, a professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor Natalya Mikheeva.
The first day of the school for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future” was completed by prof. Ludmila Karavanova’s lecture “Developing professional and educational personality space”.
The second day of the school for prospective master students was held under the guidance of the All-Russian with international participation student scientific and practical conference “Pedagogical Education: Optimization, Modernization and Development Forecast”, which was also dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The Institute of Education Development Strategy of the Russian Academy of Education, Tver State University, Moscow Psychological and Social University took part in its work.
Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Leading Researcher at the Institute for Education Development Strategy of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy of RUDN University Mikhail Makarov addressed the participants of the school and conference.
For students of the school, Professor M. I. Makarov also gave a lecture “Strategic guidelines for the development of education”.
Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, academician of the International Pedagogical Academy, laureate of the pedagogical prize named after V. A. Sukhomlinsky, professor of the IFL Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages Mikhail Mukhin delivered a lecture “The trajectory of personality development: the ascent from oneself of the current to itself new, more perfect”.
Alexandra Vorobyeva, Ph.D. (Psychology), associate professor of the IFL Department of Social Pedagogy, director of the Department for ensuring the quality of educational programs of the Department of Educational Policy of the RUDN University, spoke about distance education as a trend, methodology and a tool in education.
Ivan Samokhin, Candidate of Philological Sciences, senior lecturer of the IFL Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages, delivered a lecture “Basic Principles of Inclusive Education”.
RUDN students also presented the results of their scientific research.
On the third day of the school for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future”, lectures and master classes by leading teachers and practitioners took place.
The session of the student sections was opened by practicing psychologist Oleg Nikitin, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, senior lecturer of the IFL Department of Social Pedagogy. Oleg Nikitin made a report from a series of his lectures on the gestalt approach in working with problems, which was highly appreciated by the students of the school.
The scientific message “Formation of leadership qualities in the learning process” was addressed to the school participants by Lyudmila Karavanova, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, professor of the IFL Department of Social Pedagogy.
Irina Kovalenko, a senior lecturer at the IFL Department of Social Pedagogy, conducted a workshop named as “Independent work of students in the aspect of mental health (using the example of students preparing for exams and speaking in class)” with the participants of online school.
The lecture “Features of the Andalusian dialect” was delivered by Pablo Rodriguez Ramirez, graduate student, assistant at the IFL Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages.
The sessions of the student sections of the school for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future” ended with a master class by the graduate student of the Institute of Foreign Languages Anastasia Martynova, dedicated to theatricalization elements as techniques for learning English.
All participants of the school for prospective master students “Pedagogy as an art: looking into the future”noted that Graduates of the Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University carried out interpersonal interlanguage mediation aimed at the effective interaction of staff members involved in educational, scientific, negotiation and business processes, participate in the leveling of conflict situations. Foreign languages studied in all areas at the Institute of Foreign Languages of the RUDN University provide its graduates with the advantage of successful employment in a multicultural world on all continents.
