Dialogue between western and eastern cultures as an actual social and pedagogical problem in Russian society
On January 18, the regular meeting of the scientific and methodological seminar "Actual problems of social pedagogy, psychology and management of the development of human resources of society (social management)" was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia at the Department of Social Pedagogy. A report on "The Dialogue of Western and Eastern Cultures as an Actual Socio-Pedagogical Problem in Russian Society" was addressed by the Acting President. Head. Chair of Social Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Mishatkina. As M.V. Mishatkina, Russian society has traditionally acted as a link between Western and Eastern cultures. The processes of globalization and social changes in modern society actualize the role of such an intermediary and increase the need for practical research in the field of cross-cultural communication. The seminar was devoted to the development of research methodology, as well as interaction with representatives of different cultures. The participants of the seminar showed keen interest in the topic of the seminar. A number of questions were asked about the possibility of using the methods of dialogue in the conditions of the pedagogical process, taking into account the unique potential of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and the University as a whole in the development of the methodology for building a dialogue of cultures.
In February, RUDN dentists took part in the AEEDC Student competition 2023 in Dubai. Students from 8 countries: Bahrain, Georgia, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Russia and Singapore competed in professional skills.

Prof. Mario Pace, (Ph.D. (Melit), Associate Professor, Head of the Department, Languages and Humanities Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malta, language consultant to the Minister of Education) gave lecture entitled “Languages and Translation in the Context of Intercultural Communication” within the framework of the academic and methodological online seminar of the Foreign Languages Department of the Agrarian and Technological Institute of RUDN University held via MS Teams. The event attracted an audience of more than 80 guests.
