RUDN became a federal innovation platform in the priority area “Informatics. Digitalisation”
In 2023, RUDN was admitted to the list of federal innovation platforms (FIP) in the direction of ‘Informatics. Digitalisation’ and has been confirming this status every year since then. This became possible thanks to the implementation of the project ‘Development of digital educational environment for pre-university training of foreign students’ on the basis of the Digital Pre-University Faculty. The project was created to popularise the Russian language and Russian education in the world.
Shakhnoza Sultanova, Director of the Digital Pre-University Faculty of RUDN, emphasises that the platform ruslovo.rudn.ru is a digital resource that has no analogues.
Over 2.5 years, more than 12 thousand foreigners from 61 countries have been able to start learning Russian thanks to RUDN's digital educational resources. Now on our multilingual educational platform it is possible to dive into the world of Russian language from the zero level and study it up to the second certification level - B2. We plan to add to the number of general education disciplines available for digital learning as early as next year. We are glad that we will be able to continue the development of the project at the federal level.
The aim of the project is to popularise the Russian language and the Russian system of higher education among foreign audiences. The main idea of the project is to provide foreign citizens with an opportunity to learn Russian and prepare for studying at any Russian university while staying in their country of residence.
Foreign students can save time and money without losing the quality of education thanks to the modern educational methodology, which includes regular classes with RUDN professors, self-study on the platform and tutor support in their native language. RUDN experts will also strengthen the association of Russian universities that teach international students using distance learning technologies. The project is planned for the period from 2023 to 2030.

The decision to include RUDN among the new FIPs was made in accordance with the published protocol of the meeting of the Coordination Body for the formation and functioning of innovation infrastructure in the sphere of higher and relevant professional education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Federal innovation platforms are educational organisations that implement innovative projects or programmes that are essential for the modernisation and development of the education system, taking into account the main directions of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation and the implementation of priority directions of the state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of education.
December 15, Minsk hosted the IX International Student Olympiad in Human Anatomy. It was attended by 9 teams from Russia and Belarus. Students of RUDN took two 3rd places in the theoretical and practical rounds.
The VI Firsova Readings conference “Modern languages and cultures: variability, functions, ideologies in the cognitive aspect”, held at the Faculty of Philology brought together speakers from Russia, England, Hungary, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, working in 9 thematic sessions. The conference featured a workshop, a round table and three seminars in Russian and English.
RUDN University will again become the most international platform for the Geographical Dictation, which will be held on November 19, in Russia and abroad. The dictation is held annually by the Russian Geographical Society on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The key goal of the project is to popularize geographical knowledge and increase interest in the geography of Russia. Test your geographic literacy!
