RUDN University discussed socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens in Russia
The conference was attended by over 250 specialists from leading Russian universities (Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, RUDN University), heads of testing centers of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, heads of legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Education, State Duma, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Agency for Nationalities).
“Today we attach particular importance to the work to create comfortable conditions for the education of foreign students. In the complex of measures for the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens, the educational component is considered one of the main ones. That is why serious attention is paid to the development and adoption of effective educational mechanisms that can meet the needs of all participants in the process,” Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
At the anniversary conference, the participants discussed the issues of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens in the context of the current and projected migration legislation.
“The conference was conceived in 2012 as a joint project of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Federal Migration Service of Russia. For 10 years, we have been able not only to raise important issues that require regulation at the legislative and university levels, but also to offer solutions,” Anzhela Dolzhikova, Director of the Russian Language Institute, RUDN University.
Profile specialists of universities discussed organizational and methodological approaches to teaching foreign citizens at digital preparatory departments and exchanged modern practices and digital tools for social and cultural adaptation.

The conference “Russian Language and Problems of Socio-Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation” is the largest platform for the exchange of views between the federal legislative and executive authorities and the expert community on topical issues of the migration agenda, development of the system of educational training and socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation. In 2023, the event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation and the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with the support of the information and analytical resource Media-MIG.
December 15, Minsk hosted the IX International Student Olympiad in Human Anatomy. It was attended by 9 teams from Russia and Belarus. Students of RUDN took two 3rd places in the theoretical and practical rounds.
The VI Firsova Readings conference “Modern languages and cultures: variability, functions, ideologies in the cognitive aspect”, held at the Faculty of Philology brought together speakers from Russia, England, Hungary, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, working in 9 thematic sessions. The conference featured a workshop, a round table and three seminars in Russian and English.
RUDN University will again become the most international platform for the Geographical Dictation, which will be held on November 19, in Russia and abroad. The dictation is held annually by the Russian Geographical Society on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
