Heads of Russian and Iranian universities discuss the results and prospects of cooperation at the IV Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Larisa Efremova presented the Cluster approach in the international activities of RUDN University at the IV Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran (Kish, Iran). The forum brought together rectors and vice-rectors of 13 Iranian and 17 Russian universities to discuss the problems and prospects of cooperation between Russia and Iran in education as well as international experience in university management and ways to establish cooperation in order to advance in international academic rankings.

At the opening of the Forum, President of the Association of Rectors of the leading universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Rector of Tehran University, Professor Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi said: “The annual meetings of the rectors of Russian and Iranian universities confirm our countries' desire to cooperate.”

Within the framework of the Forum, Larisa Efremova made a report about the Cluster approach in the international activities of RUDN. Rector of the University of Technology noted the positive experience of cooperation with RUDN in the creation of joint master's programs “Small Satellite Design and Space Flight Control” and "Aerospace Structures and Materials" in partnership with RUDN Academy of Engineering. Rector of the Furdowsi University of Mashhad also stressed the desire to further cooperate with the Agrarian-Technological Institute of RUDN in the light of the recent visit to Iran of the delegation of the Institute headed by Director V. Plyuschikov.

In her speech, Vice-Rector Larisa Efremova suggested that all participants monitor the current interaction between Russian and Iranian universities and, on the basis of the data received, compile a Roadmap for the implementation of cooperation meeting the interests of the parties. This initiative was supported by the Forum participants, following the results of the event, rectors of the Tehran University and Lomonosov Moscow State University put forward a joint proposal to establish a focal point and form a roadmap for the development of bilateral cooperation.

The Forum ended with the adoption of a resolution - by agreement of the parties, the V Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held in 2019, in the territory of the Russian Federation.

On February 15, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia signed the Agreement on the Consortium of Universities and Scientific Organizations for the implementation of the program “Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science”. RUDN University and the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences agree to cooperate in the field of medicine

September 30, 2022, RUDN University received a delegation from the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences. The Cypriot side offered cooperation in the format of academic exchange for students of “General Medicine” and “Dentistry”. It is also challenging to create two-week summer / winter schools for Cypriot students of “Dentistry”.
