International students of RUDN University among the guests at the reception Africa Day at the cultural center of the Russian Foreign Ministry
Among the guests were representatives of diplomatic missions of African countries: Benin, Ghana, Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya, Congo, Republic of the Congo, Morocco, Tanzania, Uganda, Central African Republic, South Africa and South Sudan.
The guests were greeted by:

“The countries of Africa are celebrating a holiday that symbolizes the victory of the African people in the struggle for national independence. Exactly 60 years ago, the Organization of African Unity was created, marking the beginning of the progressive movement of the continent along the path of political and economic integration. Since 2022, a worthy successor to its work has been the African Union, whose task is to develop collective approaches to the problems of maintaining peace and security, strengthening democratic processes, developing human potential and ensuring socio-economic growth. The modern states of Africa are active participants in the formation of a just, democratic and multipolar system of world order,” said Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
In the speech of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, Benson Henry Ouma Ogutu, as well as in the address of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nazih Ali Bahaeldin Elnaggari, the importance of holding the Russia-Africa Summit in the current anniversary year for African countries, focused on the further development and strengthening of relations between Russia and African countries, was emphasized in the face of new challenges. They also noted the role of the Soviet Union in the decolonization of African countries and their independence.

“Africa Day at the cultural center of the Russian Foreign Ministry was very exciting. For us, students — future economists, diplomats and political scientists from Africa — such events are very important. I met ambassadors, diplomats and other interesting people. It is these meetings that strengthen relations between Africa and Russia, develop cooperation in the fields of economy, politics, education, culture, and security,” said Hassan Abdoulay (Republic of Chad).
A festive concert for the guests of the event was prepared by young musicians, laureates of prestigious music competitions.

RUDN Institute of Environmental Engineering is hosting the winners of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards 2024 state scholarship program for the second time. The participants chose between 126 universities from 23 countries, including the USA, Canada and Australia. 25 best Indonesian students chose Russia and came to Moscow for the first time.
In the morning, the main building is always crowded, students rushing to their first class. Suddenly, there is a large group of smiling young people from Africa, very smartly dressed, wearing scarfs with two logos on them, one — a university logo and the other — an unfamiliar abbreviation JGC.
RUDN University welcomed a delegation of three Municipal Assemblies of the Republic of Ghana - Korle Klottey, La Dade-Kotopon and Ledzokuku. At the meeting the parties discussed the results of the educational school “Solid Waste Management and Circular Economy”, held at the Institute of Ecology of RUDN University this year.
