RUDN delegation takes part in the BSUN-2018 Black Sea Universities Network Congress

RUDN delegation composed of Vice-Rector for international activities Larissa Efremova and representative of the Agrarian and Technological Institute Dranidis Anastassios, took part in the BSUN-2018 Black Sea Universities Network Congress.held at the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The main theme of BSUN-2018 Congress «The goals of sustainable development of the UN until 2030 in the Black Sea region: from science to practice» was chosen taking into account the new tendencies in the education system, as well as the interest generated by the participants of the Congress - the universities of the member countries of the Network. As early as 2015, the UN General Assembly approved the Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030 which was aimed at combating poverty and hunger, overcoming inequalities in the development of various countries, establishing peace and justice in society, protecting human rights and ensuring gender equality, conserving natural resources and creating conditions for sustainable economic growth.

Participants discussed the quality of higher education, cooperation in the field of education, the development of industrial innovations, climate change and water space research, sustainable development of cities and rural areas and the use of space technologies to ensure food security.  The rector of the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki, Professor Periklis Mitkas was elected new president of the Black Sea University Network of Universities.

RUDN delegation is also planning to discuss the participation of RUDN in Capacity building (projects to increase the capacity of higher education institutions) of the Erasmus + program; sign a specialized classes program and a work program. RUDN representatives will also visit the National Technical University of Athens and the Athens University of Economics and Business.

The Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) has been established based on the recommendation of the PABSEC Cultural, Education and Social Affairs Committee during the session held in Bucharest in August 1997.

Following the PABSEC recommendations, this network was established in 1998 in Constantza during the 2nd Conference of Rectors from the Black Sea Region. The idea of the network has been welcomed with enthusiasm by the Academic Community of the Region and it has been developed, including nowadays over 100 universities from the 12 member countries of the Economic Cooperation from the Black Sea Region (BSEC) Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria,Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Russian Federation, Turkey and  Ukraine.

According to the BSUN Statute, the Decision Body of the Network is represented by the General Assembly - Conference of Rectors from the Black Sea Region including the rectors of the member Universities.

25 winners of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards 2024 scholarship program came to RUDN University

RUDN Institute of Environmental Engineering is hosting the winners of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards 2024 state scholarship program for the second time. The participants chose between 126 universities from 23 countries, including the USA, Canada and Australia. 25 best Indonesian students chose Russia and came to Moscow for the first time.

In the morning, the main building is always crowded, students rushing to their first class. Suddenly, there is a large group of smiling young people from Africa, very smartly dressed, wearing scarfs with two logos on them, one — a university logo and the other — an unfamiliar abbreviation JGC.

A delegation from Ghana visits RUDN University

RUDN University welcomed a delegation of three Municipal Assemblies of the Republic of Ghana - Korle Klottey, La Dade-Kotopon and Ledzokuku. At the meeting the parties discussed the results of the educational school “Solid Waste Management and Circular Economy”, held at the Institute of Ecology of RUDN University this year.
