Seminar “Mathematical modelling of respiratory viral infections”

A seminar on mathematical modeling in biology and medicine on topic “Mathematical modelling of respiratory viral infections” will be held at RUDN University.

In this lecture we will present an overview of recent works on mathematical modelling of respiratory viral infections. We will begin with the investigation of infection progression in cell cultures and in tissues of human body. We will determine viral load and infection spreading speed and we will apply these results to evaluate infectivity and severity of symptoms for different variants of the SARS-CoV-2 infection. In the second part of the presentation, we will discuss some novel models of the epidemic progression in the population.
