About the event

Department of Landscape Design and Sustainable Ecosystems of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. Patrice Lumumba invites students, postgraduates and young scientists to take part in the international summer school “Monitoring, modeling and managing of urban soil and green infrastructure” (3MUGIS) / “Monitoring, modeling and management of urban soils and green infrastructure”, which will be held in the period July 1-5, 2024 in a mixed format on the basis of the RUDN.

The purpose of the summer school is to develop skills in monitoring, modeling and mapping urban soils and green infrastructure in various climatic conditions and in an anthropogenically transformed environment. Upon graduation, students will gain in-depth knowledge in the field of ecology and biogeochemistry of urban soils and plants, get acquainted with achievements in the field of monitoring and modeling of urban soils and green infrastructure.

The school is organized with the support of the Russian Science Foundation and under the auspices of the International Union of Soil Scientists (IUSS), the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and the Institute of Urban Soils of New York in cooperation with universities, scientific institutions and research groups from around the world.

The working language of the school is English, Russian.

Terms of participation

3MUGIS will be held in Moscow in a face-to-face and remote format based on the Yandex remote platform.Teleconference and the Agricultural and Technological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
