Lecture of the invited professor Masafumi Unno «How to build well-defined silicon materials»
7 November at RUDN University Faculty of Science was red lecture of the invited professor «How to build well-defined silicon materials». Invited lecturer: Masafumi Unno, Doctor, Professor of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and International Education and Research Center for Silicon Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Gunma University, Japan, author of more than 50 works in the field of silicon chemistry.
His research Interests: Synthesis and Application of Silanols, Dye-sensitized Solar Cell, Host - Guest Chemistry of Silanols, Laddersiloxanes. He also was awarded by Incentive Award, The Society of Silicon Chemistry, Japan (1999) and The 7th Yokoyama Scientific Research Award (2004).
Professor Unno in his lectures told about silicone compounds, in particular about silicones and silsesquioxanes, which are widely used in our lives. The recent demand for high-performance materials sharply pushes the research of these compounds to a high level.
In these lectures, professor identified the research of his group over the past two decades and described the synthetic methods, properties, reactions and applications of various well-defined silicon materials.
The students, masters, postgraduate students and professors of the Faculty of Science attended this lecture.
In 2024, RUDN started accepting applications for the new annual Prize for Scientific Achievement in Chemistry. The award was established to honour contributions to fundamental and applied research, as well as merit in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We continue to share the stories of front-line soldiers who created the Peoples’ Friendship University. Georgy Bruchinsky was born in 1917, graduated from the Leningrad Forestry Academy in 1939, and in 1941 graduated from the basic faculty of the Ivanovo Military Political School.
On the eve of Victory Day, we share the stories of front-line soldiers who, after the Great Patriotic War, participated in the creation of the Peoples' Friendship University and educated a new generation of students.
