On November 22, RUDN Rector Oleg Yastrebov and the head of the Russian Ecological Society Rashid Ismailov signed a cooperation agreement. The main goal is to create a Green Diplomacy Center.

The Green Diplomacy Center will carry out joint project activities on two thematic tracks: environmental and climate. The experts of the Center will form a proactive agenda in the international arena in the field of sustainable development, which will reflect the national interests of Russia.

The agreement provides for several key areas of cooperation:

  • implementation of joint scientific research and scientific and technical work;
  • solution of specific applied problems;
  • joint participation in international programs and projects;
  • collection, analysis and development of proposals on issues related to the implementation of the National Project “Ecology”.
  • The development driver will be the RUDN Institute of Ecology, which was the first in Russia to be accredited by a body for the validation and verification of greenhouse gases in the national accreditation system.

The challenge of the Millennium. One step closer to the solution
In 2017, RUDN University scientists constructed a new explicit second-order precision difference scheme using modern computer algebra methods for 2-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations (NSE) [1]. This year, our mathematicians used a new scheme [2] to construct a numerical solution to the Cauchy problem with initial data (for t=0) as satisfying the continuity equation. Scientists managed to achieve previously unattainable accuracy of the continuity equation.

In 2024, RUDN started accepting applications for the new annual Prize for Scientific Achievement in Chemistry. The award was established to honour contributions to fundamental and applied research, as well as merit in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We continue to share the stories of front-line soldiers who created the Peoples’ Friendship University. Georgy Bruchinsky was born in 1917, graduated from the Leningrad Forestry Academy in 1939, and in 1941 graduated from the basic faculty of the Ivanovo Military Political School.
