Autologous macrophages of rats: a study by young scientists of RUDN became the best at the XX Pirogov Conference

The research of young scientists of RUDN Medical Institute is the best among the oral presentations in the section “Molecular Medicine” at the XX International (XXIX All-Russian) Pirogov Scientific Medical Conference of Students and Young Scientists.

The conference participants are students and young scientists up to 35 years old, studying or working in the Russian Federation, near and far abroad. Aida Baghdasaryan, a research assistant of the Laboratory of Molecular Pathophysiology, also took part in the “Molecular Medicine” section.

It was possible to participate in the conference with a public oral or poster presentation based on the results of their own research activities. Aida presented an oral report "Obtaining functionally active autologous rat macrophages while preserving an animal model for the treatment of inflammatory and oncological diseases" and took 1st place. In total, 20 oral and 10 poster presentations were presented in the "Molecular Medicine" section.

Project “Obtaining functionally active autologous autologous rat macrophages with preservation of animal model for therapy of inflammatory and oncologic diseases”

The work on the project was carried out by a team, which, in addition to Aida, included:

  • Victoria Kiseleva, junior researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Pathophysiology of the Research Institute of Molecular and Cellular Medicine of RUDN.
  • Ekaterina Miroshnichenko performed the work under the grant.
  • Polina Vishnyakova, Candidate of Biology, Associate Professor at the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology, RUDN Medical Institute, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Pathophysiology, RUDN Research Institute of Molecular and Cellular Medicine.

The scientific supervisors of the project were professor Timur Fathudinov and associate professor Andrei Yelchaninov.

In 2017, RUDN University scientists constructed a new explicit second-order precision difference scheme using modern computer algebra methods for 2-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations (NSE) [1]. This year, our mathematicians used a new scheme [2] to construct a numerical solution to the Cauchy problem with initial data (for t=0) as satisfying the continuity equation. Scientists managed to achieve previously unattainable accuracy of the continuity equation.
