Profession

Profession of a cadastral engineer is one of the new modern specialties in Russia. A cadastral engineer is engaged in surveying land, performing geodetic works in order to determine the spatial position of real estate objects. He performs all field, desk work of cadastral activities and draws up all primary documentation for registration of real estate and property rights. Having acquired the knowledge and qualification of a cadastral engineer, students can engage in: — geodetic activity for the purpose of surveying land plots and real estate; — cartographic work for the purpose of formation digital maps in electronic form in cadastral institutions; — cadastral activity for the purpose of contractual obligations with the contractor, the work of the entire range of registration of technical documents (boundary plan, technical plan of the house, the act of inspection of the object) with conclusion and signatures.

Educational Process

The program is interactive and high-tech, classes are held using full-featured geodetic, photogrammetric and cartographic equipment. The uniqueness of the program is close interaction of the educational process, science and production processes: specialized subjects are taught by honored scientists and practitioners in this field of knowledge. Research work and practices are carried out on the basis of the most advanced land management, cadastral, geodetic and appraisal companies and research organizations.

Production and research practices are carried out in leading scientific and industrial specialized organizations to obtain professional competencies and possible employment. Practice bases are Moscow City Property Department, ScanEx Engineering and Technology Center; Gazprom divisions, Domodedovo Airport, Mosgorgeotrest, Metrostroy of Moscow; CREDO-Dialog; Soil Institute; Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Moscow Regional BTI; TSEM “Moskovsky”; Association of Russian Appraisers; Branches of Rosreestr; cadastral chambers; agricultural holdings; private real estate companies; appraisal, cadastral, land management and geodetic firms (VidProekt, GeoProfi, etc.).

Career

A graduate of the master’s degree is able to independently carry out geodetic surveying of a land plot and real estate objects, form a boundary plan and other documents for cadaster registration, as well as solve a wide range of tasks related to the creation of digital cartographic products using laser scanning systems, electronic total stations, GLONASS/GPS technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles and aero materials- and satellite imagery for planning the rational and efficient use of land and real estate, conducting examinations and resolving disputes in the field of land and property relations, cadastral valuation, etc.
