Oil and gas occur in a wide variety of geological conditions and physical states. A petroleum engineer is faced with the task of extracting these valuable resources from the bowels of the Earth and, using modern technological solutions, transporting oil, oil products and gas to consumers.
The program “Technologies for Production and Transportation of Oil and Gas” is focused on training highly qualified specialists in the field of fuel energy, including field development, transportation and storage of hydrocarbons. The professional goal is to most effectively conduct the development of hydrocarbon deposits and solve any production issues.
The main objectives of the training are related to the development and implementation of methods for enhanced oil recovery, monitoring the development and operation of wells.

Educational Process

The program is implemented in English. Master’s students study the general scientific cycle of disciplines, as well as special professional disciplines that provide for an in-depth study of the processes of field development and oil and gas transportation. An individual learning path provides for a choice of specialized courses, which allows you to master narrow specialties and gain knowledge in related fields. The block of the special course includes disciplines that consider the issues of design and technological calculation for the transportation of gas and low-viscosity oils, the sequential pumping of petroleum products, the transportation of high-viscosity and highly congealing oils, etc.
In the process of preparation, students communicate with the heads of specialized enterprises in the framework of scientific and methodological seminars, workshops and internships.
As a result of mastering the program, students can apply modern methods of intensifying oil production, taking into account the specifics of the development of oil fields with hard-to-recover reserves, as well as justify the choice of technologies and techniques for oil production in difficult conditions.


Agreements with oil and gas and oilfield services companies — leaders in the oil and gas industry — open up opportunities for students to develop competencies in the development of a wide range of real research and production projects during research, production, technological and pre-diploma practice.
Currently, good cooperation has been established with enterprises — potential employers for graduates. Students gain practical skills by participating in real projects of the “Novomet” Group of Companies, “TRIOL” Corporation, “Rustmash”, “Tatneft”, “Russneft”, “Zarubezhneft”, as well as the Kazakhstani enterprise “Reservoir Surveillance Services”.


Graduates of the Oil and Gas Production and Transportation Technologies program can further develop a career in one of the following areas: — continuing education and conducting research work in postgraduate school with further defense of a candidate's dissertation;
