Educational Process

Students under the “Philology” program master theoretical and practical disciplines in the Russian language and its teaching methods, Russian and world literature, study a foreign language in a volume that significantly exceeds the norms of the federal standard, and also master the basics of pedagogy and psychology.
Students get a unique experience of learning, communication and cooperation in an international environment, which allows them to get acquainted with the characteristics of different languages and cultures, mastering the skills of intercultural communication.
In addition, there is the possibility of parallel training in the continuing educational program “Translator”.
Classes are held in the form of interactive lectures and seminars, practical exercises and master classes. At seminars and practical classes, discussions are held on topical issues of philology, works of art and critical reviews of classical and modern literature are discussed. Students participate in research and creative projects and present their results in classes, conferences and other scientific events, which allows them to master the skills of public speaking. Young scientists have the opportunity to publish their articles in Russian and international journals.
The faculty hosts meetings of young philologists with famous Russian and foreign scientists, writers, journalists and public figures.

Practice

The program includes several types of practices. Pedagogical practice in the Russian language and literature takes place in secondary schools in Moscow and the Moscow region. Students conduct lessons in specialized disciplines, and also participate in the organization of extracurricular activities.
Pedagogical practice in Russian as a foreign language is carried out on the basis of RUDN University, where students from 160 countries of the world study. Young specialists develop courses in Russian as a foreign language using the latest digital educational tools and innovative teaching technologies and conduct classes.
Pre-diploma (research) practice is implemented at the graduating departments of the Faculty of Philology: general and Russian linguistics, Russian and foreign literature, the Russian language and its teaching methods. The result of undergraduate practice is an independently completed scientific research, which has theoretical and practical significance.
Students can also get practical experience as part of internships at foreign universities in Italy, Spain, France, China, Japan, Lebanon, etc.
