Profession

The relevance of philological education in an interdisciplinary context confirms the demand for philologists, whose professional competences allow them to work as specialists in both language and literature, that is, to be specialists of a broader profile. Education under this program is aimed at training specialists in the field of the Russian language and Russian literature, as well as linguodidactics, which makes it possible to work as a teacher of the Russian language and literature in a foreign audience with a possible specialization in the field of pedagogy and linguodidactics. Knowledge of the specifics of language situations in the post-Soviet space, as well as types of language contacts and areas of language policy, expands the professional competence of a master’s degree graduate and allows him to participate in the work of state and municipal institutions, in a wide area of official business and political communication, as well as in sociolinguistic research.

Educational Process

During the first year, students study at one of the RUDN partner universities, members of the CIS Network University Consortium, and during the second year they study at RUDN University. The preparation of a master’s thesis is carried out under double scientific supervision and is focused on topical issues of linguistic and cultural interaction between the countries of the post-Soviet space.
The program is based on the scientific and academic traditions of Russia and the CIS member states, as well as on the latest world achievements in modern theoretical and applied linguistics and literary criticism.
Particular attention is paid to the research work of students, as well as their preparation for teaching in higher educational institutions.

Practice

Students practice at the graduate chairs of the Faculty of Philology, try themselves as teachers and researchers, and together with teachers participate in research projects.
