Profession

The profession of an architect involves theoretical research in the field of architecture, including the functional, constructive and compositional aspects of design, the typology of buildings and structures, as well as the accessible environment for people with disabilities; study of the problems of preservation, conservation and modernization of the historically developed urban environment, individual architectural complexes and buildings, reconstruction of lost architectural monuments; updating and improving the regulatory framework in the field of architecture, design, construction, operation and reconstruction of objects of professional activity. In professional activities, a postgraduate graduate and / or a candidate of architecture solves one or several types of tasks: research activities in the field of architecture, teaching activities in programs of higher and secondary vocational education in the field of architecture. Graduates who have mastered the program are focused on work in the field of the history of architecture, culture and society and their patterns of development; reconstruction and restoration of monuments of architecture and urban planning; study of the values of historical and architectural heritage.

Educational Process

The educational process is aimed at developing theoretical knowledge, practical skills and scientific approaches in the field of theory and history of architecture, restoration and reconstruction of historical and architectural heritage. The educational component of the program includes regular classes in the history and philosophy of science, foreign languages, higher education pedagogy and specialized disciplines, conducting research seminars with the participation of leading professors of the RUDN Engineering Academy and invited scientists. Preparation of dissertations is carried out under the guidance of PhD - leading Russian and foreign specialists.

Practice

Studying under the program involves completing teaching practice, which postgraduate students undergo on the basis of the RUDN Engineering Academy.

Graduates who have mastered the program are focused on working in the field of history of architecture, culture and society and their patterns of development; reconstruction and restoration of architectural and urban planning monuments; study of the values of historical and architectural heritage.
