The profession of a geologist covers a wide range of opportunities: conducting field research in various regions of the world, making theoretical and laboratory scientific discoveries, working with three-dimensional digital models of mineral deposits.
The main purpose of the training is to train mining geological engineers who are able to apply the knowledge and skills gained in solving issues related to the study of the Earth and its subsoil, the development of the mineral resource base, forecasting, prospecting, exploration and exploitation of minerals to meet the needs of fuel, metallurgical, the chemical industry, the needs of agriculture, construction, etc.
During their studies, students develop competencies that allow them to conduct geological mapping, prospecting, appraisal and exploration work, draw up projects for exploration work, create digital models of mineral deposits, assess predicted resources and calculate mineral reserves, perform scientific and production tasks using modern computer programs.
