Open lecture by Professor of Tulane University Howard Walter Milke (USA) on "soil pollution and human health»
Dr. Howard Mielke is an expert at Department of Pharmacology, Tulane University School of Medicine.  Dr. Mielke has been studying lead and its effects on health for over 40 years resulting in numerous publications. Dr. Howard Mielke is the creator of the Lead Lab project, a not for profit initiative dedicated to helping communities with lead contamination in children's play areas. He is currently a faculty member in Tulane School of Medicine's Pharmacology Department and part of the Environmental Signaling Laboratory research effort.

Harold van Es is a Professor of Soil and Water Management at School of Integrative Plant Science Soil and Crop Sciences Section College of Agriculture and Life Science Cornell University (USA). He works on approaches to precision soil management, with current emphases on a holistic soil health management framework, and a computational tool for precision nitrogen management (Adapt-N) that was recently commercialized. He has published over 110 peer reviewed papers and chapters, co-authored a widely-read book on sustainable soil management (Building Soils for Better Crops).

Zhongqi (Joshua) Cheng is a professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, director of the Environmental Sciences Analytical Center at Brooklyn College, and a faculty member for the Earth and Environmental Sciences Ph.D. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Environmental Quality. Dr. Cheng is co-founder of the NYC Urban Soils Institute, member of the Healthy Soils Heathy Communities Project.
