Scientific seminar “Production of medical Sc radioisotopes”
The “theranostic” approach currently revolutionizing diagnosis and treatment of disease in nuclear medicine has been enabled by enhanced availability of new radionuclides, which are crucial for this technique. The development of complementary imaging and therapeutic compounds for the diagnosis and treatment of disease requires “isotopic pairs” or “matched pairs” where radiolabels are biochemically identical or similar (respectively), making them suitable for imaging and therapy.
Seminar “Blood pressure measurement methods used in cardiology”
The report will highlight the features of existing methods for measuring arterial blood pressure used in cardiology, the mathematical algorithms used to calculate the parameters of central hemodynamics, and the prospects for scientific research in this area.
Seminar “On stabilization of solutions of higher-order evolution inequalities”
Issues raised in the talk were previously investigated mainly for second-order differential operators. The case of higher-order operators has been studied much less. We obtain sufficient conditions for the stabilization of weak solutions of higher- order differential inequalities.
Scientific seminar “Novel zinc (II)/chitosan-based composite”
Ultrasonic treatment of the reaction between chitosan and aromatic aldehyde, 4-formyl-3-hydroxy-5-hydroxymethyl-1,2-dimethylpyridin-1-ium iodide, resulted in its significant acceleration and increase in degree of derivatization. The CH=N bond of the prepared Schiff base was reduced, and the formed polymeric material was converted into the corresponding zinc (II) composite by treatment with ZnCl2 and NaOH. The obtained composite is non-toxic, possesses high antibacterial activity and can be employed as the catalyst in the Mannich reaction between benzaldehyde, phenylacetylene and piperidine.
