Dr. Hans-Otto Walther, Professor of Giessen University, will visit the S.M. Nikol’skii Mathematical Institute  with a series of lectures on functional differential equations and applications to medicine.

Various processes in chemical physics, population dynamics and biomedical applications are described by so-called monotone reaction-diffusion systems characterized by the applicability of the maximum principle. This lecture will be devoted to the theory of reaction-diffusion waves for such systems and to some of its applications.

We will prove the existence of the solitons of generalized Kawahara equation which converge to the solitons of generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation  in all Sobolev spaces.  We will prove the Linear and Nonlinear Liouville Property for generalized Kawahara equation with this family of Solitons. Sketch of the proof of the Orbital Stability of this family of solitons will be presented.
