About the event

The International Symposium “Tourism Potential of the Great Silk Road in the CIS” is held within the international research project “Development of the cultural path in the CIS within the great silk road brand: formation of human resources with the key participation of universities of the CIS countries”. The idea of the project was approved and supported by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The project brought together students and professors of eight universities from 7 CIS countries to study the tourism potential of the GSR in the CIS. The teams of universities participating in the project present the results of their research work at the Symposium.

Geography of participants: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Theme of the event:

  • cultural and historical heritage of the GSR in the CIS;
  • analysis of the tourism potential of the GSR in the CIS;
  • actualization of tourism potential within the brand of the Great Silk Road.
