The Department of International Law, represented by Ph.D. Associate Professor of the Department of International Law M.V. Ilyashevich is holding a scientific seminar generally titled as “Ensuring International Security: Problems and challenges”.

Speaker: Marianna Ilyashevich, PhD , Associate Professor of the Department of International Law of the RUDN Law Institute.

The seminar addresses current aspects of modern cooperation between states in maintaining international peace and security, namely:

  • the legal content of such concepts as “use of force”, “aggression”, “an armed attack” in the context of the provisions of the UN Charter;
  • interpretation and implementation of the provisions of the UN Charter in the field of the use of force;
  • issues of international legal responsibility for the crime of aggression; peacekeeping operations and their effectiveness;
  • the problem of resolving regional armed conflicts and its impact on ensuring international peace and security, and others.

Participants: The seminar will be attended by bachelor and master students, as well as postgraduate students.
